Self-improvement as a way to do nothing
There's an uncomfortable way to check what's going on. Close all the educational stuff and name the last thing you finished thanks to what you learned. Not took notes on. Not saved. Not discussed. Made, so that the result exists independently of your intention. A draft. A small working program. A proposal you actually sent. A conversation in a language where you got every other word wrong. Let it be rough. A rough result at least has qualities you can improve.
