Self-improvement as a way to do nothing
Productivity is especially funny. You spent the weekend building a system that's supposed to save you twenty minutes a day. Now you also have to maintain it: color-code, sort, move things around, watch reviews of new features. Everything fits beautifully inside it except the work itself. Work is messy, unpredictable, and keeps ruining the beautiful plan. So the plan gets another revision. At least it rewards your effort: the more time you put in, the more tabs you have to show for it.
