Are you tired, or do you hate living like this?

You don't necessarily hate your entire profession. Sometimes it's a particular company, person, schedule, or workload. Sometimes the job is fine, but getting there consumes what's left of your life every day. And sometimes you've spent years living with something you originally accepted as temporary. A temporary job became a career. A temporary city became the place where eight years passed. “We'll put up with it for now” stopped containing any kind of end date. It helps to establish exactly what you're trying to survive each week. Otherwise you can spend a lot changing everything around you while keeping the main problem intact.
