Nobody owes you applause for trying

I know that resentment. Especially when someone does something simpler, faster, seemingly without even trying, and gets more attention. You really want to explain that yours goes deeper. It's more honest. You actually worked your fucking ass off. Maybe. But the customer didn't order a suffering contest. If someone solved a problem in an hour, they don't have to apologize to the person who struggled for a week. And if you spent a week solving a problem nobody had, another week of suffering won't create demand on its own.
