Do you want justice, or do you want someone else to suffer?
I don't like turning envy into another reason to hate yourself. It's more useful to understand what it points toward. Money? Freedom? Recognition? The ability to stop justifying your life? Sometimes someone else's success helps you notice your own desire. Sometimes you discover you don't want what they have at all. You just want confirmation that you're no worse than they are. Here's the bad news: their failure won't build you anything in return. It won't put money in your account, freedom in your schedule, or warmth in your relationships. For a few minutes, it'll just make looking around easier.
